 eDean is an information network that uses LCD displays in an educational arena to inform, educate and notify a school’s population of upcoming and current events, news and emergencies. The displays provide news, weather, academic calendars, performing arts schedules, social calendars, sports schedules, and special event times and locations. In addition, eDean provides a system for quickly relaying alerts including specific calls to action, during and after an emergency. eDean provides students, parents, faculty, staff, and campus visitors with a sense of safety, knowing the system is there to alert them of any present or forthcoming emergency. 


eDean has proven to be a valuable visual communication tool for several educational institutions, and has been successful in an actual emergency notification. Since it was designed, developed, and researched with the assistance of University presidents and provosts, it satisfies the unique needs, wants and concerns of educational institutions.
